WITs vs Halaqah

In Singapore, majority of the government bodies and statutory boards have WITs teams in their organization.

What is WITs? Well, it means “Work Improvement Teams”….the purpose was to increase innovation and efficiency in one’s organization.  But in recent years, I have noticed that most organization have forgotten the purpose of WITs….now WITs is being called “Waste Important Time” and it had become a race to earn plague or recognition for awards.

Anyway, I’m not here to talk more about WITs but rather the similarities and difference of WITs and Halaqah.

Let’s talk about the difference first….

Hmmm…. WITs is focus on working environment, physical achievement and materialism while Halaqah is focus on the development and achievement of the soul.  Our soul which for most of the time we seem to have forgotten that our soul too needs to be fed and cloth …not with what we do physically but spiritually.

We need to feed our soul and cloth it by reading the Quran, performing charities and prayers etc.

That is the difference between these two and their similarities? Well, both WITs and Halaqah are based on teamwork.  Sharing and discussing.  Both consists of a facilitator and members.

Oh yes! Talking about members…..another thing that you sure can find in such gatherings is that, there will be some members who are very active while others passive.  What we need is for all to be able to talk and share equally.

Anyway, if I am ask to choose which one I like better, WITs or Halaqah?  Definitely, 100% sure, I choose Halaqah anytime, anywhere and anyday.

  1. Mash’Allah sis, yeah a Halaqah is definitely no waste of time. On the contrary, its time well spent and hopefully carries meaning to the listener.

    Thanks for posting
