Recently, I had purchased a book entitled “Life is an Open Secret by Sis Zabrina”. Very much enlightened after reading the book. Jazakillah sister Zabrina, May Allah bless you always. Ameen!
Among all the stories in the book, one of my favourite is this story. I shall summarise it to my best ability to share the message relate in it.
Bismillah….
“About 1428 years ago, our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. made this prayer (du’a) for us :
Sakhr al-Ghamidi narrated that the Prophet s.a.w said : “O, Allah, bless my people in their early mornings.” When our Prophet sent out a detachment or an army, he sent them at the beginning of the day. Sakhr was a merchant, and he would send off his merchandise at the beginning of the day; and he became rich and had much wealth. (at-Tirmizi and Ahmad)
Can you believe it? More than a thousand years ago, our Prophet s.a.w. made a prayer for his ummah so that they would be blessed in the morning.
No wonder, our parents and those people generations before us had always urged us to wake up early in the morning because it is during this period that “early birds will catch the worms.”
Our Prophet’s prayer is like him giving us the secret of life, the key to the treasure box. “
So get up early for our sustenance is being given to us during that time. In fact, I’ve heard of students who said they could study better when they woke up early morning before dawn to study for their exam. Subhanallah….isn’t this the secret to success?
But of course, to wake up early is not an easy task to do. I should know…hehehe
Yet, since we now know the secret to our sustenance, to our success in whatever we’re doing, we should try…try and keep trying. Insya’Allah we will succeed.
So what are we waiting for?…Hurry and set the alarm clock….

As-salaamu’alaykum wa Rahmatu Llahi wa Barakatuhu my dearest sister,
Subhan’Allah! This is just sooooooo great! you know why?.. I never knew that was a prayer the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wa-salaam) made.
I do know (from experience, alhumduliLlah) that my whole day is more productive and everything seems to go so easy, when I wake up early. And my dad is famous for “if you sleep in how are you going to get anything done” (directed at my brother of course). But now, this changes everything..hehe
Now I have to go tell everyone what I learned! And wait for my dad to say “Haven’t I been telling you this..”..
Jazak’Allah!
Wa’alaykum as-salaam
Love Farhana
