Last Sunday, while in the car on our way to Causeway Point, my youngest girl, Wafa, had this conversation with me.
Wafa : Ibu, if I get lost I stay put right?
Me : “Yes, remember to always hold either my hand or your father’s but if you get lost please remain where you are. One of us will find you.”
Wafa : “Yes, one of you will find me and my sisters’ too.”
Me : “If lets say it happens, you must not be afraid ok, don’t cry. If you feel afraid, remember to say “Bismillah” and…
here she interrupts me and said,
Wafa : “I’m not afraid and I don’t have to say “Bismillah” cos I know Allah looks after me.” and she said it with such conviction that I was speechless for a while.
Masya’Allah…..as I sat and ponder what she said, I marvelled that at her young age of 5, her faith in Allah is such that she knows she’s protected and look after by Him all the time. Faith in Allah……how I pray that this faith in Allah will be deeply rooted in all my girls. In all of us……until the end of time.
Ameen….
